Late Autumnal Sunshine.

Garden Spider On The Hawthorn Tree.

This time of year the colours in the garden are gorgeous.  As the sun gets lower in the sky, the light becomes more golden and subtle, highlighting colours and details in the garden that are sometimes overlooked in summer. It creates an atmosphere that brings its own energy and theatre, just as the rest of the garden is slowly going into its sleep for winter.

At this time of year, it is important to start to get your garden Winter ready. I am usually tidying up garden borders, and if dry enough doing some final pruning before the wet weather starts. I will also start planning for next year, looking at areas of planting or the next project and conjuring up ideas ready for when the garden season starts again in the early Spring.
